She was a lovely lady, if not a little sterner than mum, which is why David was woken up early during school holidays and came over to watch TV at ours, while I was still in bed. I remember lovely parties, with great food and Stella knew how to bake! 

Stella was full of surprises and I remember particularly her learning to drive quite late in life. She did a lot of voluntary work it was a blessing for me to know she was just across the road, with a daily pop in on mum all through her illness.

An open heart, very kind which her children, grandchildren, and all those who knew her benefited from.
